Out There, Jerry

I’ve never had kids, so I can’t say for sure, but I think writing a story is a lot like having a child. You create it, put your dreams and hopes into it, and then, to quote from Seinfeld, “It’s out there, Jerry.” Your baby, your creation, out there finding its place in the world.

Talk about a dichotomy of emotions: scary to thrilling, hopeful to content. It’s an amazing process–the wonders of writing.
